Young Angels present "Young Men of Comedy: Incarcerate This". Theater Palisades.  November 13th.

Above, L-R, Jose Velasquez, Kenji Thomas, Martin Rizo, Isaac "Flaco" Martinez, Reggie Brown and Jimmy Ouyang at the show's Ice House debut in August.  "Incarcerate This" is inspired by the Dellums Commission report "A Way Out, Expanding Life Paths of Young Men of Color" and benefits Young Angels Watts Comedy Project.  Hosted by Edwonda White, named BET's first ever Female Comedian of the Year, "Young Men of Comedy" brings a big-hearted group of emerging comedians to Theater Palisades.  All the comics pictured above work in the classroom at Young Angels Animo Watts.  Tickets on sale in October.  

Young Angels kicked off the year at  AWCHS in Student Council by planning a season of fundraising events and after-school clubs.  In place already are the Comedy Club with Artist-in-Residence, Edwonda White, After-School Snack Shop, and coming this week-- The After-School Gaming Lounge.

First-year teacher, 9th Grade Physics, Deandre Cherry, checks out the set for Comedy Club before his debut in an improv sketch. Says Kenji Thomas, "He's a natural."
